Oh. Well, then. We wouldn't want that to happen. Though, perhaps we might say we have seen a great many stranger things happen than alien abductions. [He hummed under his breath and it sounded a little like It' s Raining, It's Pouring, though it was not quite on key.]

Pants, indeed. [With that he was moving. A goal, after all, was a good solid thing to have.]

sobbing

We could say that, but then they'd want to know what's stranger than an alien abduction, and we'd be standing here all day explaining-- still, with you missing your pants.

[ At least they're on their way now and Peter finally gives him a little nudge along, mostly patting at his shoulder before he pulls his hand away and succinctly distances himself just enough to make at least that much feel right with the world. ] Now we just have to hope your locker has a pair. Otherwise we'll both be out of luck.
whiteisforwalter: (yeeeees that's it)

he's terrible. god walter. put your pants on.

In this we are in agreement, we could very well be standing around all day explaining that very thing. I think, [Walter's scratching at his tattoo, then peering at it as they pass the lockers.]

Oh! Look. I match. [He he pointed at the numbers and then at his locker, which he began to summarily dig around in. And there were his pants. Jumpsuit. And a box of Red Vines. He pulled on the underwear and the jumpsuit first because it was a bit drafty. Just a little bit.]

If these are aliens, my boy, they most certain have good taste. [He held up the box of Red Vines and smiled.]

think of the children, walter

Yes, you match. We all match with our lockers, that's the whole point-- [ But what's the use in explaining that, really, because Walter's already got some kind of a handle on it and it doesn't matter that it affects anyone else. As long as Walter gets it.

The question is, how long will he be able to remember. Also not all that important when the goal of pants is finally met (sort of) and Peter can breathe a little easier because he does not need to go walking around here with a naked Walter at his heels. He doesn't really ever need that.
]

Yeah, they sure do, Walter. Making sure you've got your favorite food here, and everything. Now we just have to hope you don't run out before they take us to their leader. [ He forced something a little bit like a smile and peered into Walter's locker. ] Get anything else worth mentioning?
whiteisforwalter: (yeeeees that's it)

the last time walter thought of the children, it involved drug trials and explosions

[personal profile] whiteisforwalter 2013-04-29 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Is it? [Figuring, thinking, so many points of departure. Little tattoos, little lines of possibility. They whys and wherefores.] No, no. Not the whole point. Only a piece of it.

[He'd remember long enough to get him from point A to point B and well on the way to point Z which had some tangential affiliation to whatever point C was or would have been. But that hardly mattered, because they were on some strange craft and Walter was most fascinated with the how at the moment. There were so many reasons. Like donkeys, and cats, and horses, and bananas, and ships full of strange people from strange places -- because that over there wasn't human, but the bone structure was fascinating.]

Noah's Ark. [He waved a Red Vine.] Maybe that's it. [And then he took a bite and mumbled around it.] Although, I may be a bit old for that. You, however--
