[ For someone who's not used to be seen, perhaps he didn't imagine the person he's speaking to aiming a frying pan at his head but it's exactly what's happening. ]

jack's body catches the nonexistent breeze and he jolts backwards, into the air some few feet out of reach. it would probably look alot more suave if he wasn't still a little queasy, since he sorta flies crooked. one elbow smashes back into the wall behind him with a dull thud, which would hurt more, if he wasn't grappling with surprise. ]
