I feel the need to announce how much fun I am having in this thread

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-26 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well twenty minutes ago I would have also said there is no such thing as a spaceship that kidnaps you while you make tea, either, Mitchell!

[HUFF.]

Also you can't fault me for watching too much television, late at night! Do you know how boring it is when everyone is sleeping?

Some of it's actually quite good.

[But she's clinging more because oh my god little grey men]
humanistic: (sneer - the view of down here?)

literally my next subject line was going to be screeching over how great this is omg

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-26 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, really. Name one that's 'quite good', I'll bet you can't name a single-- Annie, seriously-- that's my arm, I'll need it later, stop trying to wrench it offa me--

[How is he meant to think about being in space with a ghost hanging off of his arm? How are they ever going to find George if he's been abducted by-- oh, brilliant, now he's thinking about the stupid grey men, just brilliant--]

You could wake me up, y'know. Or you could try and get a bit of sleep yourself, it might do you good. But programmes about yetis and crop circles and implants don't do you any good at all. [Lecturing now, young lady, this is the ancient voice of one hundred years of wisdom telling you don't watch crap television you will rot your ghostbrains.]
invisibilitea: (Ghostly fear)

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-26 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That one with the mashed potato mountains!

[She doesn't remember the name so sue her. Also that was a movie.]

George and I watched it once when you were at work.

[It was the best she made tea and he ate popcorn and they bonded.]

Also I don't want to wake you up when you sleep you finally lose that face. You know the one.

[It's the one you're making right now, Mitchell.]
humanistic: (ri-ight - literally too stupid to insult)

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-26 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Mashed-- Close Encounters? Close Encounters doesn't even have proper abductions in it, and it also, I'm compelled to add, it also isn't a programme. Though it's slightly better taste from George than I've come to expect--

[And he could go off and talk about that for a bit, except hang on]

What face?
invisibilitea: (Ghostly exasperation)

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-26 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That one programme with unsolved mysteries! Oh, oh! Or the one with William Shatner and the goblin on the plane!

[Okay see? Those are on television.

Okay she's going to pause here. And not talk about your face.]

George turned me on to that one. I suppose we could do with William Shatner right now.

[Yes she's mixing bad sci-fi television up. Thanks, George.]
humanistic: (listen - nothing loud or crass)

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-27 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Under his breath:] Thank you, George.

[And now, much more normally:]

Much as I'd love to talk about William Shatner and his goblin-- [Maybe that's a euphemism and maybe it isn't] --can we first conclude that there aren't any grey men hanging about?

And what face, I don't pull any particular... faces. [He trails off as he realizes what she's just inadvertently said.] D'you-- often watch us while we're sleeping?

invisibilitea: (Ghostly wonder)

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-27 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
[AHA SO YOU BELIEVE HER.]

See! You think we were abducted as well!

[Er.]

And not often. Not as often as you would think. I mean it was mostly when you had just moved in.
humanistic: (girl pls - don't let the beard fool you)

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-27 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
I never said that! I never-- no, I don't think we were abducted. I never said that.

[In the grand scheme of things, being watched by a ghost whilst sleeping is really not so weird or bad and anyway he sort of half knew about it. --Okay, so it's still a little weird. But this is far more important.]

If it's an abduction--and I'm not saying it is--then it's less of a flying saucers paranoiac's wet dream abduction, and more of a-- of a guys-in-a-van style abduction. [Which isn't much better.] No grey men.

That we've seen. Yet.
invisibilitea: (Ghostly realization)

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-27 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, bless, we're staying with a topic that doesn't remind her of what a mess she was when she first died.]

Yet..

[She's not quite clinging anymore, though. She's clutching her box of tea.]

What if they're experimenting on George?

[Worst. Case. Scenario.]
humanistic: (oh come on - a plethora of piñatas?)

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-27 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you listen to yourself? They are not experimenting on George! Who the hell are they, haven't we established that there aren't any--

[But now she's got him thinking of it, and he's not going to stop thinking about it until they find George (because if they're here, then at least George is here as well, it stands to reason).]

...No. No, Annie, that's mad, we are not going to let ourselves-- assume the worst. [Except he already is assuming the worst, and then some, and it shows on his face.

A moment longer, and he makes an irritated noise and turns on his heel to start off again, his eyes narrowed.]

Oh, come on.
invisibilitea: (Ghostly fear)

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-27 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right, you're right.

[But she reaches for his arm again. If she's going to be on board she's going to not lose Mitchell to little grey men or a possible anal probe. She will go down fighting.]

Lead on.
humanistic: (small smile - if anything hurted you)

sdfsdfsdf annie--! draws a million hearts around this thread

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-27 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her touch registers a little faster this time, and Mitchell glances at it for a second before he looks up at her face. She's very touchy, for a ghost, which means she was probably a little touchy as a person--well, she's a person, just a dead person--which isn't a strike against her, just a fact.

Anyways. He smiles, just slightly, even though he's half-worried over grey men and their probes himself.]

We're going t' find him. And then we'll have another thing to put in the scrapbook--The Time We Saved George, This Time With Possible Aliens. You can do your own late-night movie on it.
invisibilitea: (Ghostly pleasure)

I KNOW I KNOW

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-27 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[She finally smiles back, her eyes crinkling a little, because, well.

Mitchell.]

Only if you agree to be in it as well.
humanistic: (smile - a gracious host)

melts

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-28 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
What, me?

[He holds his hand out and wiggles his fingers at her.]

You've got a better chance of showing up on film. But if you ask re-eeeally nicely, I might agree to do the special-effects.
invisibilitea: (Ghostly amusement)

ugh my heart

[personal profile] invisibilitea 2013-03-28 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, lets find a way home, and then I'll think of something I can do.

[Was that innuendo? No. Accidental innuendo, maybe, but in true Annie style she doesn't realize it until about ten seconds after it leaves her mouth, at which point she just closes it.]
humanistic: (yeeeeah - i'm like a pretty deep dude)

[personal profile] humanistic 2013-03-28 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[That was--

Well. Er. He opens his mouth, and shuts it--and there's a pause, maybe just a touch awkward--and then he laughs, and rubs at the back of his neck. And once he's laughed again--like that's going to dispel any awkwardness!--he manages to look over at her.]

Yeah. We'll just-- work that part out later. [Does she know what she's-- she seems to, right? Right. Just... move on.]

Right. Well, let's go and rescue George.
