[Fili grins and pulls one of his knives from it's scabbard, slamming it into the top of the can, prying the lid back to reveal the peaches in syrup]

Go ahead, try one.

[He moved to wipe his knife off.]

What's that it's in?

[because he's seen jarred fruit before, but mostly as jams and jellies, and this was a metal tin. now that's open, though, he reaches for it and pulls one of the slippery slices out— which he promptly loses his grip no and sends flying to the floor.]

[Fili laughs at his own joke, and rolls his eyes, and rummages in a drawer for a fork. He spears one, and holds it out to the hobbit.]
