I haven't done a damn thing. Sorry to break it to you, but we're all stranded here. It's this ship, it brings people from all over the universe, all different times, an' we dunno how or why, yet.

[He sighs, resting his hands on his hips. She looks like she could use a drink, although given how coming out of stasis the first few times makes just about everyone feel, maybe she's not ready for that yet.]

Sounds crazy, I know.

Yeah, it does sound crazy.

[And she's looking at him like he might be crazy. Yet... she can't really deny that this place is far beyond anything she thinks could exist where she comes from.]

So what am I supposed to do? How do I get back?

[Lara lowers his gun, though she doesn't feel comfortable enough to put it away yet.]

Don't have an answer to that either, I'm afraid. As far as anyone can tell, we're millions of miles out from anywhere anyone here recognizes, so takin' off in a shuttle will just get you killed. Mutiny's no good either, since the captain isn't in any more control than we are, an' he's not exactly fond of answering questions. Doesn't mean I've given up trying to work out a way off, but for now, we're all stuck here.

[Besides, as much as he hates to admit it, enough about this place intrigues him where some days he's just as interested in understanding what's going on as he is in getting home. Pandora doesn't hold much for him anymore, and while looting the ancient treasures of the Eridians is exciting, solving the mystery that is this ship fills a very similar purpose in his need for adventure.]

This is.. too much.

[She rests her back against the wall and touches her forehead with her free hand. It's like she's in a dream. This is all so far fetched from reality, she's not sure how to process it. She's not entirely sure she believes it, being a skeptic of many things until recently, but her eyes aren't deceiving her.. are they?]

[Well, shit. Not that he expects anyone to take it well the first time, since he sure didn't, but he has no idea what to do now. Comforting people isn't his thing. He glances back toward his bird, who seems to have relaxed but shows no indication of wanting to come back to him for now, then shrugs and has another drink.]

Yeah, well, soon enough it'll be downright boring to you, believe me.

[Lara tries to collect herself a little. This man hasn't tried to attack her yet, so maybe he's alright after all. He does look like the dangerous sort, but looks can be deceiving.

Her eyes go to the bottle in his hand.]

Would you mind sharing that?

[He grins and steps closer so he can pass it over. It may be a canteen but it sure as hell isn't filled with water. What it is full of, though, he's not entirely sure. Space booze is funny like that. All he knows is that it's strong.]

Don't have too much, you'll make yourself sick right after comin' outta stasis like that.

[Lara reaches out cautiously to take the canteen. When she claims it she leans against the wall again and tucks her pistol away.

The drink is brought to her lips and she takes two large swallows before lowering it and coughing a few times.]

My goodness.

[That stuff is strong! She nods a couple of times.]

Welcome. Oughta wake you up a little, heh. Though if you need water, there's plenty of that in the passenger area.

[But enough about that, because look at those lovely archaic weapons.]

So, where an' when were you before you woke up here?

[Lara offers the canteen back to him.]

I was stranded on an island. Our ship went down. The crew and I were just rescued before I woke up here.

[He takes it and has a drink before hooking it back onto his belt.]

Sounds rough. What planet did you crash on, d'you know?

Planet?

[This man is more well traveled than Lara thought.]

I haven't been to any planet but my own. Our ship went down on a storm and we were stranded on an island.

Oh. You mean ship like a boat, then. Heh.

Around here, usually if someone asks where an' when you're from, you answer with planet an' year. Not all of us are from Earth, after all, though most are.

Oh, I see.

Well then, I'm from Earth. The year 2013.

Introducing myself like that will take some getting used to.

Well, luckily for you, you're in the majority here. Lotta people from the early 21st century, for some reason. Mysteries of the jump drive, I guess.

That is fortunate.

[At least she'll have something in common with others.]

Pandora most recently, though it's not home, exactly. 5327.

[He says it casually, but by now he's begun to wonder if he shouldn't do more buildup. Make it impressive or something, because he's only met one other person here from the same millennium that he didn't already know, and that guy was still from Earth and hadn't left its solar system.]

Wow.

[She's not sure what else to say about that.]

A ship like this must be commonplace for someone like you.

Kinda. I haven't spent a lotta time on spaceships myself. I'd rather have the ground under my feet, you know? But the idea's not real foreign.

Can't say I blame you there. Though this place is pretty big, it's still not the same as being on solid ground.
