Mistletoe Meme

Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... That's weird, it's Decemb-- oh wait. December is the perfect time to get stuck under the mistletoe with someone. And look! There's a someone else stuck with you under there right now! And, of course, you both can't move until you kiss one another (
Let's start off December with a little holiday cheer!

Re: carolyn fry
Oh, hey... Were you looking for me, Boss?
[ It's only after he starts speaking that he notices the spring of mistletoe dangling over her head, and he glances at it and back to her. ]
no subject
[ Carolyn glances up at the mistletoe too, sighing. ]
But then I got stuck.
[ At least she found him... ]
no subject
[ He's got a slight smirk on his face now, one eyebrow raised. ]
What'd you need me for, exactly?
no subject
[ No seriously York it won't let her move don't be a brat :c ]
I was going to warn you about the mistletoe.
no subject
He looks up at it again, turning his eyes upward without moving his head. ]
Pretty dangerous stuff, huh?
no subject
[ She just sounds really annoyed. ]
Unless you're sick and contagious.
no subject
Contagious, no. Not sick either. You?
no subject
[ And apparently stuck with a brat, even if he isn't actually under the mistletoe right now. ]
no subject
You need help with that, Boss?
no subject
Carolyn still doesn't look terribly amused, looking up at him. ]
It's that or we both stay here until we rot.
no subject
[ He moves one hand as though to set it on her shoulder, but then seems to consider something, tilting his head slightly and rubbing his neck instead. ]
You gotta preference?
no subject
[ She watches that movement and catches him changing his mind, and funnily enough, it has the set of her shoulders relaxing a little. ]
Getting back to work eventually would be nice.
no subject
He sets his hand back on the edge of the doorway. ]
What if I told you I like a woman who takes charge?
no subject
Carolyn does recover though, even if she's internally wondering yet again how this has become her life. ]
Just get over here and kiss me.
no subject
Oh, when you put it that way.
[ And he bends his head and kisses her. ]
no subject
She really would like to get back to trying to drown herself in work. Work makes sense. ]
no subject
'M doin' that bad, huh?
no subject
It's been a while.
[ Really, she's not sure she's ever been that good at it in the first place. ]
no subject
[ In that case... He smiles and takes her hand that's dangling, setting it on his waist. ]
Here.
[ And he kisses her again, not really putting more force into it, but he's obviously taking more control than the first time. The kiss is languid and he squeezes her a little tighter before letting it end. ]
no subject
When the kiss ends she takes a step back, shaking her head like she's trying to regain her focus. ]

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN
Hotspur had laughed at the mistletoe at first. In the grand scheme of things - near death experiences, the demons, endless corridors and skeletons in hidden rooms - it wasn't exactly a dire situation. A little alarming, perhaps, if any of it gets sucked in to a live engine. ]
It's an Old Earth thing, apparently. [ He informs her with a nudge of his head towards the mistletoe above when they both inevitably get trapped. He discards the hydro-spanner he'd been using to the floor with a clatter and shrugs candidly. ] Looks pretty, at least?
SOBS BROKENLY
She's not smiling now, though. The mistletoe is above them and Carolyn sighs, finishing up her notes on her comms device before tucking it back into her belt. ]
Is being stuck an Earth thing, too? [ Well, at least it's Hotspur and not Kirk. ]
no subject
Don't reckon so. [ There's an undeniable undercurrent of amusement in the quiet rumbling, misshapen melting pot of dialects that made up Hotspur's accent - an accent born of hundreds of Old Earth nationalities fusing and fading over fifty years of intergalactic migration in to one rambling dialect. Even the nanites can't help but translate his words in to something not quite right. ] I reckon that bit's just classic Tranquility mischief.
[ As if knowing what she's thinking, Hotspur spreads his hands and adopts a hopeful expression. ]
Could be worse though, right?
[ And not just in terms of kissers. The mistletoe could be making them massacre each other. That would be really classic Tranquility mischief. ]
no subject
Of course it is. [ Another sigh. She does that a lot on this ship. Her own accent is a bit of a melting pot as well; Earth still exists but it's a long way off. Fry, however, does have a bit of distinct Australian (or the space equivalent) in her voice at times -- usually when she's in some sort of distress. ]
But yeah, it could definitely be worse. I'm honestly a little surprised Casey hasn't punched someone under this stuff yet.
[ Don't give it ideas. ]
