Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... That's weird, it's Decemb-- oh wait. December is the perfect time to get stuck under the mistletoe with someone. And look! There's a someone else stuck with you under there right now! And, of course, you both can't move until you kiss one another (Of course, not specifying where that kiss needs to happen).

Let's start off December with a little holiday cheer!

No. Just stuck.

[ And apparently stuck with a brat, even if he isn't actually under the mistletoe right now. ]

[ That situation will end with York stepping forward, setting his hands on the sides of the hatch. ]

You need help with that, Boss?

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Welp. Hi, York.

Carolyn still doesn't look terribly amused, looking up at him. ]

It's that or we both stay here until we rot.

[logicunlocked]

That doesn't sound pleasant.

[ He moves one hand as though to set it on her shoulder, but then seems to consider something, tilting his head slightly and rubbing his neck instead. ]

You gotta preference?

[suddenlycaptain]

Not really.

[ She watches that movement and catches him changing his mind, and funnily enough, it has the set of her shoulders relaxing a little. ]

Getting back to work eventually would be nice.

[logicunlocked]

[ It mostly has to do with the fact that she's his superior, though he wouldn't want to overstep his bounds even if she wasn't. He knows a way to handle that, though.

He sets his hand back on the edge of the doorway. ]

What if I told you I like a woman who takes charge?

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Well then you would get a blank stare much like the one she's giving you right now, York.

Carolyn does recover though, even if she's internally wondering yet again how this has become her life. ]

Just get over here and kiss me.

[logicunlocked]

[ He grins, now free to step forward and set one hand on her waist and one on her shoulder. ]

Oh, when you put it that way.

[ And he bends his head and kisses her. ]

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Carolyn's not a tall woman -- she's about average, just over 5'5". People forget that sometimes, because her bark is loud and she's stubborn as hell. She hasn't forgotten it though, and for a moment she freezes before mentally kicking herself and kissing back, one hand resting on his arm while the other sort of awkwardly dangles at her side.

She really would like to get back to trying to drown herself in work. Work makes sense. ]

[ He drops back slightly with some disappointment at her cold-fish response. Still, he keeps his tone just slightly teasing. ]

'M doin' that bad, huh?

[suddenlycaptain]

[ And Fry winces. ]

It's been a while.

[ Really, she's not sure she's ever been that good at it in the first place. ]

[logicunlocked]

Oh.

[ In that case... He smiles and takes her hand that's dangling, setting it on his waist. ]

Here.

[ And he kisses her again, not really putting more force into it, but he's obviously taking more control than the first time. The kiss is languid and he squeezes her a little tighter before letting it end. ]

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Carolyn feels remarkably stupid now, but she kisses back faster this time. She even lets that hand on his arm trail up to his shoulder a bit.

When the kiss ends she takes a step back, shaking her head like she's trying to regain her focus. ]

Right.

[logicunlocked]

[ Okay, she seriously seems unimpressed. It seems to be more about her than him, though. He'll laugh it off.

Now that that's over with, huh?

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Now it's awkward shrug time. ]

Until one or both of us inevitably get stuck under more of it.

[logicunlocked]

[ He chuckles. ]

Well, you get into trouble with it again, you know who to call.

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Smile. ] I may have to.

[logicunlocked]

[ He nods. ]

You look nice when you smile.

[ Oh, yeah, work. He tries to look a little more serious. ]

...So what did you need me for?

[suddenlycaptain]

[ sdlkghsdg York okay she's actually a little red now ]

Just... warning you about the mistletoe. I was thinking maybe we should try getting it down, but that could end with us getting stuck again, so...

[logicunlocked]

[ He turns around to look at it. ]

Hm. Maybe if I kind of lean in from here--'m taller than you, I think I can reach without stepping under.

[ He doesn't wait for an answer, just goes ahead and reaches for it. He can't quite get it unhooked, though, and he steps forward without thinking about it. ]

What did they do, cement this... Oh.

[ Yup, he's stuck again. ]

[suddenlycaptain]

Maybe it's growing out of the ship.

[ Which sounds insane, but. It's the Tranquility. ]

... You're stuck again, aren't you?

[ Carolyn you knew that, you're stalling. ]

[logicunlocked]

[ He puts his hands out and looks at his feet, trying to move for a moment and then shrugging. ]

Uh, yeah. That'd be a yes.

[suddenlycaptain]

[ Okay. Okay, she's got this. Leave no man behind, etc.

Taking a few steps closer, she looks up at his face for a moment, head tilted, before shifting onto her toes to kiss him. ]

[logicunlocked]

[ Now that's nice. He shifts a bit to pull her in, hands on her waist, and smiles against her lips. ]

[suddenlycaptain]

[ She hadn't actually been expecting him to pull her in, but it's... not too bad, really. There's a little of a smile on her own lips before she realizes it, and Carolyn breaks the kiss but doesn't pull away. ]
