Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... That's weird, it's Decemb-- oh wait. December is the perfect time to get stuck under the mistletoe with someone. And look! There's a someone else stuck with you under there right now! And, of course, you both can't move until you kiss one another (Of course, not specifying where that kiss needs to happen).

Let's start off December with a little holiday cheer!

Uh. Yeah.

[... the most awkward shuffle. How does a conversation this wasn't how he thought this would go he is completely unprepared for this.

So he's just rubbing the back of his neck and looking anywhere but at Asato and working up the balls to start the apology brigade. That might take a minute.]

We should just kiss, so we can go.

[Pragmatic. It's the easiest way out. They can figure the rest out later, when they're not both awkward messes. Because he's not ready to start apologizing just yet, except maybe for running into him here and getting them stuck in this situation. He can't change what happened, but he knows the quickest way to resolve it.]

... if that's - what ya want.

[It pains that this would be the perfect opportunity to explain the three cheek kisses thing, but there's no way he's doing it like this.]

We can't go anywhere unless we do it.

[If only he could just rub his cheek against his face, call it a cat-kiss, and be out of here. And if only he were actually able to improvise something like that instead of standing there like a deer caught in the mistle-headlights.

Seriously why can't mistletoe be for fist-bumps or handshakes or anything that doesn't involve kissing people you don't even feel at ease talking to.]

[Is that bad though? They've been doing an excellent job of avoiding each other and now that he's not plagued with irrational worry he kind of hates it.

But.

If he tried then Asato wouldn't avoid him on purpose, right. Hopefully not. So he sighs and finally nods.]

[With that he leans forward enough to plant a cheek kiss that rivals the first one he gave Belgium after the revolution in its awkwardness.]

[Although he tries not to, he stiffens even at a kiss to his cheek, tail giving a few great lashes back and forth before he steps back.

Awkward awkward awkward.]

I don't have to kiss back, do I?

[With other people he just of did it because he wanted to but in this case? Nooope.

But at the same time, he'd rather not take any risks being stuck here for longer than he needs to be. A tense situation within an awkward one is just way past what he can handle now. So in he comes. Right for the cheek, almost like he's very belatedly kissing him better. Sorry for trying to tear your throat out, and the like.]

[There's a flicker of kicked-puppy-expression across his face that happens before he can do anything about it, and after that he wrestles his expression the opposite way, into something strangely severe. Ducks his head a bit, not because he's expecting a kiss, but just so he doesn't have to look - before he can nod, no, you don't have to kiss back - he gets kissed anyway.

Uh. So yeah then he's just blinking at the floor and feeling ten kinds of miserable because for some reason that gentleness is worse than getting shunned.]

[He just doesn't have it in him to be angry right now. Mask or no mask, Asato's the grieving type as much as he is the aggressive type, albeit for drastically different reasons.

And after, he just stares for a second with lowered ears before his attention drops similarly to the floor. His hearing's plenty sharp enough to be able to pick up what Netherlands says no matter how quiet he is, but once it comes down to it he seems hesitant to go.]
