[Selfish or not, there's nothing like seeing someone warm and familiar in this cold, strange place. Merlin's also thankful that he found her before someone could scare her about space radiation or trick her into making them a sandwich.

It happens.]

I'm happy to see you too.

[Merlin hugs her and leans back, looks her over until he's satisfied that she's okay. Physically, anyway. But Gwen's always been strong. She's probably handling this better than he did.]

I just wish it were back in Camelot instead of here.

[chambermaid]

Are you alright? [ She's not visibly shaken but she does look a little worried. This is beyond anything she's ever been witness to, a part of. She looks him over to, her hands on his shoulders before she steps back and looks around, her brow furrowing before she bites her bottom lip.]

What's happened? What is this place?

[servant]

I'm fine. We're on a ship, only it doesn't sail on water. It's in space - the sky. And it's not magic.

[Merlin pauses. Even describing it like that, it sound crazy. So he adds something else.]

And I swear I haven't been at the tavern.

[chambermaid]

Are you sure you haven't been in your cups? [ She tries to look amused but she's more than a little worried as she looks around. ] I have never seen a place like this.

[servant]

This is only the beginning.

[He's sad to say it, and it's in Merlin's eyes, his voice. But he tries to sound more confident for her sake.]

I've only been here a little while. But Arthur's here! We'll look out for one another.

[chambermaid]

[ She hears that and her lips press together, however, she brightens for a moment at the mention of Arthur even if she tries to surpress it a moment later.] Arthur's here, really? I mean-- Really? [ The second really is said with less excitement/relief and more... concern. Because that's more appropriate.]

Yes, we can look out for each other. Us, me and you and Arthur.

[servant]

[Merlin gives her a soft, knowing smile. Sorry Gwen, not fooled.]

Really. And at least we have a plan. That's a start, yeah?

[chambermaid]

You always have a plan, Merlin. [ She says warmly and a little breathlessly, but she's relieved to hear it. ] And it's a good start, a very good start.
