[Well, any place was better than Korea... Right?

Right.

Even though he had no idea where he was, or what this place was because there definitely isn't technology like this in 1951, he wasn't quite scared so much as excited. Excited to be out of the war and the Swamp and nary a Frank in his line of sight. It was like he died and went to heaven, or some variation of it.

Exploration of this mysterious place was necessary, but he was taking his sweet time moseying about, poking at crevices in walls and whistling to himself.]

[it's difficult not to notice whistling and Kirk pauses on his way down the hall, brow creasing and glancing to his left. he's not sure he hears it at first, because lets face it, this ship could fuck with you.

but it's a real person, not something invisible or unreal, and Jim might have accidentally snuck up on him. he lifts his chin, looking over his shoulder at whatever's caught his interest.]

[He may be a little jumpy - inconsistent shelling and gunfire tended to rattle a guy's nerves - so the sudden voice right in his ear has him shouting and jerking away.

Hawkeye raised his hand, one finger pointed right at the stranger.]

Yeah, I found a stranger who scared the living hell out of me.

[But then he started to laugh because, really, the guy looked harmless and he trusted people too easily when they had bright puppy-dog eyes.]

[Wandering the hallways had become a bit of a habit for Bela, especially when she was restless. It was also a good way to figure out shortcuts and hiding places just in case she needed them.

A sound catches her attention and she isn't quite sure if it was real or not. That kind of sound was a little eerie, especially when it echoed down an empty hallway. The smart thing to do would be to head back to her room and ignore it.

Bela chose to walk towards the source to prove that she wasn't crazy.]

[When Hawkeye turned a corner and spotted a woman he stopped whistling. He wasn't necessarily afraid of being alone in strange places, but he liked being around people and talking, so he didn't need to keep making noise when he had someone to talk to.]

Probably because they're in their rooms at the moment. There are other people here so it isn't entirely lonely.
