[ he returns the glare with a 'well excuse you' face. you know the one. ]

No. [ then there's a pause as gears actually start moving. ] Hang on, if anyone's to blame here it's blatantly you with the weird teleporting powers. It's not like I could've immortalitied us onto a spaceship.

[ a pause so he can take a towel off a passerby who looks too confused and scared to put up a fight - which they are, so success. he makes a halfhearted attempt at scrubbing goo out of his hair that fails completely, then shrugs and ties it around his waist before offering nikki an accusatory finger pointing. ]

So clearly I'm the one who should be asking the questions. And speaking of your shitty powers, don't you think now would be a good time to test them out? Maybe teleport somewhere useful for a change?

[ and that's when nikki slaps him upside the head. if kelly isn't here to do it, then nikki just has to do her dirty work on her own. ]

Hey! [ yeah, that is kelly's job, thank you. he'll kindly not have everyone else picking it up. he swats pointlessly at the offending hand, then goes to equally pointless rub at the offended region. ]

Let's not start that again, this is a new chapter in our lives. A chapter free from anyone hitting me.

[ but he's distracted by a slow glance around, eyeing the pods and general creepy space decor somewhat warily. ]

Then what is it, then? You don't suppose there's someone out there with hallucination powers. Maybe in reality we're both just stood round in the middle of the community centre like a pair of twats.

[ that particular theory distracts from the hitting things in general, though nikki'd argue that nathan will never have a chapter of his life without it. ]

[ this power business is bullshit. ]

You think they've got all of us standing about or will the others manage something?

Could be. [ a thoughtful pause before his attention finally turns back to nikki, and he looks like he's taking the situation uncharacteristically seriously, brows furrowed in thought. ]

Or we could take charge of the situation, try to break the hallucination ourselves. You know what could work is if we do something completely out of character and inappropriate. If the other naked people don't have the normal reaction, we'll know it's a fake.

[ okay so maybe not actually taking it seriously. but you never know, a little light voyeurism could totally be a legit solution. ]

[ like so many of nathan's plans, it's sound in theory. but nikki knows enough to be suspicious, to get specifics before committing, so to speak. ]

[ and he doesn't even have a reply to that, other than to take a quick, almost wary glance around as he moves a bit closer. it looks like he's about to divulge some kind of important secret, but- ]

[ although, truth be told, she was more or less expecting this. nathan will be nathan, and that's actually sort of comforting in this particular moment. ]
