At least you know what it is, some folks here seem real behind the times. [REN FAIRE, she's looking at you guys.] So what's your story?

Okay, that sounds little bit weird. How could they not know what space is? [Artifact? Might be, she's going to play it cool.] I'm just a tech wiz they snatched up when I was busy. Really would like to get back to that. Is there a shuttle back to Earth, I can catch?

I think they're just from a long time in the past. [She shrugs vaguely.] Shuttles don't work, mostly, and the ones that do won't get you far. No tellin' where we are. No tellin' if Earth's even out there.

How did any us of get here then, by worm hole? [Well that's a problem.] Or by someone messing with something they really shouldn't have.

Nobody knows, sorry. [She looks sympathetic.] We're all stuck here, pulled from every place in the 'verse and a few places I've never heard of before. We're tryin' to get back home, though.

So, what you're saying is, we're all being snatched up from different realities and time frames. Right? [She sighs. Yeah, this sounds artifacty to her.] Is there any information about on what we do know about this place?

[talkstoengines]

Yep. Somehow, the ship's pullin' us all in. [She thinks it might have something to do with the jump drive, but she can't get in there, so she can't say for sure.]

We know all the old crew went missing a while back, except for the captain and the chief engineer. And there's a creepy fella uses a red smiley face as his calling card, no one's real sure about him. Not sure where we're going, though.

...you know, this is starting to sound more and more like some horror film. [Not looking good. She frowns and thinks on what to do.] Or something I'm really familiar with. I've got one important question for you.

What sort of security programs are in place on this 'network'? [She produces the device she got in her locker and flips it in her hands.]

[Kaylee tilts her head at the other woman.] Security? Well, if you wanna, you can sure make some encryptions. If you know how, or someone teaches you. But no way to know if them as built it can see it or not.

[Make some encryptions. Oh she can do that alright. Claudia just grins like a Cheshire cat.] Oh, trust me. I know how to build them myself. I'm just asking where if the crew of this ship has any. If I'm going to go rooting around, nice to know if I'll get a challenge or not.

Don't know too much about the computer stuff, engines're more my thing. But I hope you can find what you're lookin' for!

What can you tell me about this ship's engines? I'm just curious about everything because gosh it's space.

[talkstoengines]

Well, it's your pretty basic cold fusion reactor with ion-powered auxiliary thrusters, but the jump drive is where the real action's at and nobody's allowed in there.

Why aren't we allowed in there? [She scans through the file issued by an anon group and notes to hack into their protections. The more she reads the shadier it all looks.] This whole situation seems really fishy, fyi. This network functions pretty much like anything I'm used to.

Resnik says it's too dangerous, doesn't want anyone else meddlin'. But I won't argue with you sayin' it sounds fishy. Not much we can do about it, either way.
