ME ME ME ME! I have such fond memories of Cassie/the Animorph series in general. ;w; Algidus can be... kind of a prick, honestly, but people who are gentle and speak carefully usually have decent luck with him. I would totally be up for him seeing her morphing; he usually hunts out in the jungle, so maybe at some point if they got along he could take her with him and she could use it then? Or maybe he could be out hunting and get attacked by some of the infected animals and she could use it to help him out? He would probably be... incredibly confused at first, but that would be a good way to kickstart positive CR with him!
