Ugh, WHERE CAN I START. I've been terrible about tagging around (and keeping up with tagging when I do), but Rey is one of my favorite characters, both threading with and watching! She's got so much depth to her background that it's insane, and I always find myself wanting to know more about what makes her tick.

On top of the interesting story, your writing is so strong. I love the little details you throw in here and there that hint toward the things Rey has seen in her time, both in Ax and before.

You keep on doing what you do. ♥

REV I'm really glad we started RPing again. I really enjoy William and Rey's vibe. It's nice of course that they're both OCs and ergo I guess definitively lone canon warriors, I mean, those are givens. That aside though, I feel like they've got really cool complementary characteristics that fit together really well. Rey being tiny and quite the warrior, William being a bit taller and quite a puss, their respective experiences with self-destructive behavior, self-isolation, and deep sadness. I literally COULD NOT have hoped for a better partner to go scurrying around the TQ with during the DUPRR stuff. Who'da thunkit.

I feel a bit bad my writing has fallen into the whole 'too many rounds of conversation in each tag' clumsiness with our recent thread. But I have no ruhgrets about writing it! I'm finally getting to know Rey and to second Grimme down there, her backstory is really compelling and fun and full of crazy action. I can't wait to catch up on timelines too.

OOCly I also super appreciate you being a friendly and inviting person where the game is involved. More RP soon!

I LOVE REY it's been lots of fun to have the opportunity to thread off of her with both Glacius and his maladjusted clone because I have gotten to see two pretty different sides of the character! I really really like her, how you've presented her issues with relating to people because of the way she was made, and how you've presented the growth that she's experienced throughout all of the years in Ataraxion.

It's also great to have someone that just does not put up with Algidus' shit. IT GIVES ME MORE EXCUSES TO WRITE HIM THROWING HISSY FITS AND TRYING TO THROW HIS WEIGHT AROUND... but their latest thread where they've also found some common ground is really great as well. I dunno, because of how well you write her and the obstacles that she has to relating to others, that moment where she finally opens up to someone feels super rewarding and that is really cool. ;w; Thanks for not kicking him when he's down, Rey.

Can't wait to see what happens in the year to come!

Starting a new game, to say nothing of an almost entirely new format, is a harrowing thing for a person as guarded as myself. Double that when making an original character. Trebly when that character is from an original setting. With no pre-existing lines of influence, no initial outline in which to sketch- man, it's hair-raising for someone as essentially shy as myself.

So imagine my nerves when the arrival log was posted, and I had to throw that opening comment out there, into a strange sea, to bob about in swells and throes of already-existing character relationships and canon preferences. What if I just drifted, aimless, in a sea of heedless prose? What if an indifferent silence o'erwhelmed me? What if my paragraphs could find no purchase?

And then you tagged me back and I was like- 'phew, I'm gonna be okay.'

So thank you. Thank you for the thoughtful, funny, poignant, well-worded tags. Thank you for being the person I've without doubt written the most for in the past year (short, I guess, of my advisor, who doesn't count). Thanks for being a big part of what makes this game a home for my words, and comfortably so, with yours as neighbors.

So it's been a few months but this is a throwback to some months ago! Takeshi/William bumbling around the jungle was really fun for me. I've said this a hundred times before and it's probably getting kind of weird, but really, your talent for writing a convincing and genuinely adorable child is really unusual. You don't lay it on too thick, and you never miss the note that you're aiming for. His tiny sadness and tiny joys really truly ring true. Your grasp of his intellectual limits and emotional intensity are just perfect.

Which I guess is a good segue to Max, especially but not only as you played him off baby-Mystique. I feel pretty shrughands about my attempt at babying, BUut I really enjoy your Max's surliness and love of dogs. He's every bit as laconic as he is on the game, but somehow you make him a very significant and energetic presence, and OOCly tangle him up with all kinds of hilarity thanks to your being a proactive kind of player.

I'm glad we have gotten so many chances to RP over the past few months! Hopefully we will continue to do so as time continues =)

Not gonna lie, I was excited for Carlisle to get in the moment I saw your app (I think E might've mentioned something about it to you, hahaha). Not only is it nice to see more OCs in general, it's also great to see OCs with drawn icons.

I really do love your art and the style that you have for Carlisle is very simple and yet unique. I also love how fidgety he is and his interactions with other characters makes me want to thread with him more. So I look forward to you coming off your hiatus so we can do that!

I've probably written a small book of HMDs for you over the past couple years but all that stuff still applies. I enjoy your descriptive powers and your charming sense of humor, and the way both can be present at once. Your prose can be simultaneously light and heavy. It's very Eastern dialectics. I also like that you're trying to advance yourself technically and professionally, that ambition and aspiration is going to take you a long way.

BUT AS FOr the new stuff, I like your Hawke! I mean I played like 30% of Dragon Age 2 so this is like the one lizard time thing I'm qualified to talk about. He is very purple. By which I mean the dialogue options obviously rather than your style of writing. Champoin is my favorite thing, but his dogged pursuit of Fenris' lovely bottom is a close second, and the way he handled Max and Mystique's weirdness during our EPIC SPACE WAR was very good. You got the visceral quality of his magic as well as his flippant and battle-ready attitude. I think you've definitely got your sea legs with him. Keep up the marvellous work.

We've only RPed a few times and mainly on the network, but I've always enjoyed your Clarke and I'm really happy to see you're still around. I think you have her sense of loneliness and strength down-pat, in terms of characterization. Your voice with her is very good. She's resilient enough to handle it when her friends disappear, but she hurts and WE ALL HURT WITH HERrrr. Clarke really is a natural fit for the new jungle setting so I think you're an asset to the game in this way. Harry and Clarke were super adorable, and it made my decision to drop Harry even harder than it was before.

Hopefully in the future we can RP more! :) Again, happy egg day.

Just returning some of the love but yes, I've had so much fun in our threads together with Rey and William. I think the two jive together seriously well, especially after their little adventures during the DUPRR "murderdate". That seemed to be the defining moment for a lot of Rey's CR and I am eternally grateful to have had the chance to play out such amazing threads, both during the events themselves as well as the fallout, and I owe it to awesome dudes like you for being able to.

Although I haven't done much of anything with your Mystique, I've always enjoyed my CR with William. He's an interesting character with an interesting mythos that I've wanted to learn more about. It seems like you've got this really fascinating backstory with the guy.

Also you've always been such a really nice person and I appreciate all the kind words and support you've given me. I think you're pretty rad.

I've said this a couple times in a short space lately but I'll just reiterate, that little moment of Enfys and Mystique was cute okay. Like low-key and ergo convincing adorable. CAN MYSTIQUE FIND A HANKERCHIEF. I doubt anybody has hankerchiefs. An edge of a tarp and a smile, edged with irony, to conceal the shy flaw at its core. It's so ridiculous but entertaining. I think watching Enfys and Garrett fight would in fact actually get her blood up enough to start practicing again.

You've changed faces a lot on Ax over the past year or 2 but I'm really glad you're still here! I have mad respect for your OC crafting skills, and I have been fond of Enfys since she gave Harry Potter a droll look for trying to give enemy ships the opportunity to surrender. Of course, you know how I feel about Benny too, and have for a long time. Your ladies have really distinct quirks, sharp superpowers, and a lot to say. I'm foreverrr delighted to be on games with them.

I am always blown away by how you manage to keep up with playing so many characters in different games. I've also always loved how, despite your tags being concise, you're always an easy person to tag back (even though I tend to fail sometimes at that myself). You give just enough detail where I don't feel too overwhelmed or underwhelmed.

I should say as well that Death is my favorite Sandman character and I was super happy when you app'd her ages ago.

your prose in an rp sense is very grounded in a way where i feel like there is a massive amount to push off of like not just at the surface (although also at the surface) but with a depth gradient, which is ideal for sinking in and building complicated tension and conflict. this is one of favorite things about rping with you.

KOKE: although i have come at you on more than one occasion about things ive been frustrated about or disagreed with in the last two years you have always been calm cool collected in your response and continue to treat me fairly and w respect (this is also true for TIFA and previous mods, so thank you guys). i know i can be a dick but i have mad respect for you and am glad you have stayed on as staff. you’re a slick writer on top of that and achieve voice and tone in your prose with deft precision that makes your characters and style very readily recognizable. i enjoy our conflict-driven cr -- the scenes i’ve had w tyke all stand out as distinct in my history at ax. a++ would be a thorn in you and your characters’ sides again.

CEE: look you know you can write i just really like rp and cr with you. there is easy complexity in your tags and characterization -- levers to pull and buttons to push that you convey naturally with room to interpret and engage with, because your characters are very alive. you’re also super chill and enthusiastic and down to party with whatever plot thing that’s going on so thank you for that.

we're not too old i went and checked and it's coming up on 7 years



and checking led me to reading a bunch of old logs for hours i should be sleeping. you're a distinctly talented (talentedly distinct) and often hilarious writer fyi and i expect that years from now i will dig up charles and erik threads and read them too seeing as i already kind of do that. our cr is always rewarding for me and i enjoy the patterns we fall into, esp bc there is always room for surprise with them, so it's best of both worlds. it's more flattering than i can adequately describe to have your esteem and friendship so you can take it from my cold dead fingers.
