Mistletoe Meme

Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... That's weird, it's Decemb-- oh wait. December is the perfect time to get stuck under the mistletoe with someone. And look! There's a someone else stuck with you under there right now! And, of course, you both can't move until you kiss one another (
Let's start off December with a little holiday cheer!

Oh! I'm sorry. Usually I do watch where I'm going, honest.
[ she tries to take a step forward to let him by, and finds that she's stuck in place. her brows draw together and she frowns. um. what's going on here? ]
no subject
Uh, right, my fault too, ha ha.
[ Similarly, Alistair tries to move... that's odd. Alistair tries to move. Nothing. ]
So, um. This may sound weird but... can you move?
no subject
[ status: not moving. ]
This is quite odd. I can't seem to at all.
[ what is going on? she's not complaining about being in the company of a nice-looking man, but flames. it would be nice to give him his space! ]
no subject
So. This must be a terrible first impression.
no subject
It could be worse. [ truth! bethany regains some pride and optimism. and holds out a hand. ]
Bethany Hawke. Pleasure to meet you, Ser.
no subject
[ He looks up, trying not to stare at her too much, and notices the mistletoe... Oh. He points up. ] I swear, none of this was planned.
no subject
That is something I can definitely agree with. [ compliments are awesome, yes? his name is very fam-- maker! that's the king's name. she might be stuck in a hallway with the king of ferelden!
and she not even able to curtsy. :C ]
Hm? [ pardon her, she's been a bit distracted. alert, she looks up and promptly turns redder than aveline's hair. who's set them up? ]
I believe you. [ her sister would be more forward and daring than she. alas. ]
no subject
We could, uh, just ignore that. Help is more important right now, I think.
[ Alistair reach for his communication device. There's... no signal or anything. How is this happening? ]
This plan's out. Maybe we could try... screaming really loud?
no subject
But this ship is gigantic. I'm not sure how well that would work.
[ they might render themselves hoarse before anyone stumbles upon them. bethany would rather just set the bloody thing afire. maybe destroying it might work! ]
I could set it alight?
no subject
You could try?
no subject
It seems a try is exactly what it was.
[ more like a longshot, but. she casts a sheepish glance back at him. ]
If I cast it again, I might hurt something. I'm sorry it didn't work.
no subject
You don't need to apologize. It's this place that's dumb.
We're still kind of stuck though.
no subject
I have no idea why these are up so early anyhow. Satinalia isn't for at least another two weeks!
[ point. her cheeks turn red once again. ]
Um, yes. So we are. What do we do to get unstuck, then?
[ she isn't brave enough to kiss the king of her homeland without so much as a by-your-leave. this is why marian would have freed them sooner. ]
no subject
I... don't rightly know. Do you think the thingie had something to do with this? Like it wants us to... kiss?
[ Oops his face is as red as hers. ]
I mean, normally that would be stupid, but this place is kind of evil.
no subject
[ oh, maker. she's never kissed anybody before. blame it on cullen locking her up in prison for six years? ]
Now if that doesn't give me a sense of foreboding, I'm not sure what should.
no subject
We don't have a lot of options right now short of cutting our feet off, so do you want to try? If it works, I'll make you dinner. Like any girl I would kiss deserves. If... it doesn't, you can call me creepy and slap me in the face.
no subject
I would do neither of those things, whether it works or not.
[ it doesn't matter if he's a king or the boy next door. he's proving to be quite sweet and she wouldn't raise a hand to someone so kind. anyhow! she gathers herself, and takes a careful step closer to him. ]
Dinner sounds wonderful, though.
no subject
[ He raises a hand to touch her cheek, testing the waters. She has lovely hair. ]
Don't hold your breath. I'm actually a terrible cook.
[ He leans down, lightly pressing their lips together. ]
no subject
Then maybe I can help with that? I'm not so bad.
[ she stands there a moment to get used to the feeling before timidly pressing her lips to his. really, she's twenty-five. she can stop being shy at anytime, right? ]
no subject
[ When he's done, he slowly pulls away and -- oh! His feet are moving again! ]
He-y, I can move again!
no subject
Me, too! Thank the Maker. And thank you.
[ it wasn't so bad at all. ]
no subject
no subject
[ she doesn't either, but the way he's emphasized the you in that sentence leaves a lot of room for possible interpretation. but she is sure that she likes him. he's a kind, good man. and that's a rare thing.
more comfortable now that they're not forced to share such close quarters, bethany smiles easily. ]
Wonderful! I'll look forward to seeing you then.

[ He realizes he's walking backwards as he talks, so when he's about to turn around and leave, he hits a wall. Smooth. He keeps his composure, hoping she didn't see that, and walks away but not without tossing her another glance. ]
