starkiller / galen marek / gary stu / star wars tfu / ignore the icons he's from the 1st game

[personal profile] marek 2013-09-29 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[Starkiller's face twitches; he looks distinctly uncomfortable recording himself, but that's the normal thing to do, right? Normal people are okay with being on camera because they're not creepy shadow assassins whose very existences are imperial secrets. And he's supposed to be normal now. He's Joe Every-Jedi, good guy trying to bring down the oppressive Empire and totally not a horribly failed Sith who tripped and stumbled and faceplanted his way into helping to start a rebellion.

Right. Starkiller the Jedi. The Jedi-in-Training Starkiller. ... He might need to go with a different name, here, "Starkiller" isn't exactly evocative of the Leave it to Beaver type of image he thinks he has to establish. (He may or may not have a skewed idea of how the largely extinct Jedi Order actually worked, in its heyday.) In keeping with his new path in life, he tries to smile, but it looks more like a grimace than anything. It's kinda painful to behold. And a little embarrassing. He's trying, alright?]

[She'd noticed him when she settled in, took in the prosthetic hand without comment. Lisbeth doesn't trust easily and trusts even less easily here, where she's out of her element and anyone could be a potential threat. Kidnapping doesn't sit well with her.

Her gaze doesn't move for a moment; it's like she hasn't heard him, still focused on the swipe of the data pad and each drag on her cigarette until finally she shifts, inclining her chin to look in his direction, jaw working before she speaks.]

For what? [It's clipped, gaze holding his. Minimal words, but he might notice that her accent is Swedish.]
marek: (Default)

[personal profile] marek 2013-09-29 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
No. [It's a good thing there isn't an Empire presence here, because Starkiller's idea of "subtle" is about as subtle as being hit in the big toe with a hammer.] Who I am doesn't change whether or not they're here, it was a simple "yes" or "no" question.

[Cryo? Fine. Having something shoved down your throat? Why in seven hells does that sort of technology still exist. Gag. And this whole experience is more disorienting than he remembers. With what he can remember.

When was the last time he'd been shoved into a tube? ...Chillingsworth. That crazy bitch really got what was coming to her. What comes after that? More bullshit. Bald-filled bullshit.

Fuckin' Crematoria.

In the process of getting his bearings together, he notices the tattoo on his inner arm. Okay, he doesn't remember getting off Crematoria as of yet, let alone getting tagged, and as far as he could remember, there is no way he would ever agree to something like that. This whole thing stinks. Anatoli. Fuck that guy.

Only his pack of cigarettes in his locker. Cheap things he rolled himself. Ah well. Not like he carried much outside weapons, and ARE YOU fucking kidding me, Riddick locked him in a hellhound cage.

He both wishes to get even, hoping that he'd be here--wherever here is--, and also knows better. He gets his ass handed to him every. time. Plus he probably wouldn't get paid for it here. Not worth the time or potential injury.

edit: oh, hrm, he'll be around, probably cruising the network and/or exploring the ship looking for information. Easy prey to stalk. cough.]

I imagine time works differently up here, but last I remember, it was just the end of September.

You wouldn't happen to celebrate Oktoberfest, would you? It's sort of a tradition for me and my peers.

[ the media library is typically the last place anyone is going to find jax. he's been hiding out in the gunnery more often than not, kicking back with spike or tagging along with him on security patrols to avoid conversations he doesn't want to have, but today there's no patrol and he's done with gunnery, so here he is. bothering strangers up here is permissible in a way jax has never really seen outside charming, but charming doesn't count. everyone knew him in charming, and here it's not--

it's different. that's the best word jax can apply.

he nudges the seat next to her out, drops into it unceremoniously. she's got ink, but nothing identifying. ( nothing that belongs to one gang or another, because that's just how jax's mind works, the first place it goes. ) he plucks the cigarette out from behind his ear, sprawling a little, every line of him nonthreatening. jax is good at that, at pretending he's harmless. ]

the word's out of his mouth before he remembers. ]
Cortana--

[ right.

he's alone.

john doesn't show emotion, even without the armor. not so much that a stranger would notice. nothing past the slightest tightening of his grip as he hauls himself out of the pod. the deepening of his frown as he surveys the others milling about. civilians, by the look of them, some disoriented, some with an idea of where to go.

john chooses the first one to cross his path. ]

[she's supposed to be dead, that much she knows. beyond welcoming john home, she remembers a sort of infinity between "life" and "death"- or at least what an AI can experience.

she's not too far away, learning to walk on these new legs of her. hard light never fully captures the gait of human legs, the heaviness of a real body before she tumbles right into the lockers.
]

So much for grace. [she mumbles, trying to hold herself up before stumbling around.

it's then that she sees him. odd how even covered in goop, john could be majestic in the way that he stands.

[ he knows that voice. knows it better than his own, for all the times he's heard it in his ear, in the back of his mind. she had used his voice filters more than john had, at times.

but she's--

gone, his mind supplies. yet that doesn't stop her from stumbling against the lockers with real weight, and when he reaches out to steady her, there's flesh beneath his fingers.

there's no helmet to hide the widening of his eyes, more shock than perhaps he's ever shown. ]

we all can't be spartans, she wants to stay.

[personal profile] maythespirits 2013-09-30 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
[ Once she gets the nausea and the head spinning under control enough to actually take in her surroundings, Kahlan realizes one very important thing: she's never seen anything like this place before. As if the kidnapping weren't unsettling enough, or the tube that had been shoved down her throat, or the slimy goo that's clinging to her skin and dripping out of her hair. As if it wasn't bad enough that she's kneeling completely naked on the floor, she has to add deep, terrifying confusion on top of it. Her fingers curl against the floor and she takes deep, slow breaths to try to clear her mind.

As soon as she feels she can trust the strength in her legs again, Kahlan pushes herself up off the floor. It seems that the rest of the people here are headed in one direction, so she figures she'll follow suit, see what everyone is searching for. Being naked and not having her weapons on her isn't exactly comforting, but perhaps she can grab something on the way... ]

[ good thing grey wind isn't all that talkative either. the beast pads up to gendry, regarding him impassively for a long moment before pointedly sniffing at him. any of the werewolves could tell you, those newly arrived smell different, still smell of their homes. and maybe gendry smells of westeros. regardless, grey wind's gaze doesn't waver, not until robb's hand comes down on the direwolf's neck, digging into the scruff. ]

[ daenerys targaryen has come and gone, enough so that robb has become familiar with her face, that grey wind has come to know her scent. and robb has dwelled aboard this ship long enough to understand what the expression on her face means, that she's forgotten all that has come before this moment. it's why robb calls grey wind back before the great wolf could draw too close to her, keeps him a respectful distance away. ]

[It's an interesting question. Her can of soda isn't worth enough for what she actually wants, nor does she think he's capable of getting it for her--she wants her laptop, she wants technology she's familiar with and doesn't have to start from square one to hack into. She's been working at the encryptions on the network, has made some progress in understanding the coding but it's still different enough to slow her down.]

I want access to information that isn't bullshit. [She sets down the data pad to punctuate that, because everything she's looked at today? Mostly useless. Interesting enough to keep people busy, keep them quiet, keep them wondering about the culture if they care about that sort of thing. Lisbeth doesn't care about the great literary works of these people.]

I also want a taser and a gun.
