Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... That's weird, it's Decemb-- oh wait. December is the perfect time to get stuck under the mistletoe with someone. And look! There's a someone else stuck with you under there right now! And, of course, you both can't move until you kiss one another (Of course, not specifying where that kiss needs to happen).

Let's start off December with a little holiday cheer!

[ Jaye's looking up at the mistletoe. Maybe if she stares at it long enough, it'll fall down. ]

[ Okay yes staring. Heather stares at it too, because the force of their combined glares should kill anything. And if it doesn't, they've probably just discovered what will turn out to be either an endless, self-renewing source of clean energy, or the end of the universe.

It doesn't work.

Come on, latent psychic abilities. You can plunge the ship into a hundred different flavors of hell but you can't set a damn plant on fire? This is such bullshit. ]

[ Well, at least they can run the ship if it breaks again. ]

And we're stuck.

[Has by now learned all about mistletoe! This has been a very eye-opening experience for him, and he stops himself when he spots her stuck under a plant.]

Damn, these things are everywhere, aren't they?

Yeah. And of course it's not like we have open space around here where they can't hang.

Heh. Seriously. Who the hell brought all this stuff on board, anyway? I'd never even heard of it before.

[Oh. Right. She's still stuck.]

Uh, you want out?

No idea. Maybe there was some in the gardens and we missed it. It's an Earth plant, though.

[ Yes, thanks Mordecai. ]

Yeah, that'd be good.

[He regards her with a bit of a smirk. He does nothing for free, and this is no exception.]

What do I get in return for freein' you?

[ Mordecaaaiiiii. ]

Freeing me isn't payment enough? I mean, you've got eyes.

[ And Jaye is pretty vain, so. ]

[He laughs a little at her response.]

Oh, it's worth somethin', but I dunno, it's more like a deposit than a full payment, you know?

[Of course there isn't much anyone has on this ship, anyway. Not the sort of things he usually goes after, at least. He's mostly just teasing her, because she's stuck there and he can.]

You're assuming things.

[ Jaye smirks, looking far too comfortable for someone who's attempting to negotiate her release. ]

You do a good job and who knows what'll happen.

[Now see normally, he'd never let someone get away with vague hints like that. "Who knows," indeed. But this isn't exactly a job, either, and he's feeling a little more negotiable on payment details.]

Funny, you teasin' like that when I'm the one who can just walk away an' leave you there.

[He clearly doesn't mind, though, as he steps closer to kiss her.]

You'd regret it if you did.

[ And besides, he didn't -- he steps closer and he kisses her and she grins, kisses him back with an immediate invasion of his personal space, lazily resting her arms on his shoulders. ]

[Personal space isn't really something he worries about in these situations. It would kind of defeat the point. He rests his hands on her hips, and when he eventually pulls his lips from hers, he doesn't let go, quite yet. He's still half-expecting her to just walk off anyway, now that she's been freed.]

Now, 'bout the rest of my payment...

[ It would, but after his initial reaction, she figures it's better to go with lazy personal space invasion at first. He can always dodge -- but he doesn't, puts his hands on her hips instead, and that's nice. She doesn't move, save for moving a hand to idly play with his hair. ]

Is it still payment if it's good for the both of us?

[He laughs at that and tugs her closer against him.]

Are you really tryin' to argue you should owe me more?

[ Now she laughs, kissing him again just because she can. ]

Just thinking out loud.

[ But hey, if this is the payment, she's fine with him collecting. ]

[It's been almost two years since he'd last gotten laid. He's more than happy to collect.]

Then let's find somewhere that's not the middle of the hallway, where we can do a little more than just think, hm?

[ Jaye just really, really likes sex. ]

[ She's teasing -- mostly -- but really, she'll go wherever. ]

Nothin' quite this public. At least, not unless I've had a lot more to drink.

[There are so many unused rooms on this ship, even on the occupied floors, that they don't have to go far at all to find some unassigned quarters - though the beds are not as important as the closed door. Once they're behind it, though, he's caught with a dilemma - undress, or pin her to the wall and kiss her again? Or maybe he could accomplish both at once. That's certainly worth a try.]

We can work on that.

[ Jaye isn't picky and lets Mordecai lead the way, though she's still very much in his personal space and letting her hands go wherever the fuck they want. That's when he gets her up against the wall and Jaye laughs into the kiss -- not at him, but just because she's having fun.

Unfortunately she also has no idea how to deal with his clothes, so she's just letting her hands wander and therefore probably not being helpful at all. ]

[It's kind of a hassle to get it all on and off every day, it really is. He's taken to not wearing the goggles much on the ship, or if he has them, they're usually up on his forehead, but that doesn't help with just about everything else, like the long, red length of fabric that's held his sword to his back ever since the original strap broke, which seems like way too much of a hassle right now, and he has to let go of her to unwrap it all and toss it aside.]

I've really gotta find a better solution for that thing, one'a these days.
